1) Can I wash my apparel?

That is totally up to you. We recommend that you do so that you can at least keep the close friends you currently have.

2) Can I dry clean my apparel?

Yes, but that will depend on the requirements of the garment or apparel.

3) Why does the embroidered area feel thick/stiff compared to the rest of the material?

It feels thick/stiff because the process of embroidery is to add stitched thread to a specified area on the apparel. The more layers added, the thicker/stiffer that area will feel.

4) My T-shirt looked puckered after I washed it. Is there anything I can do to make it look right again?

Yes. We recommend that you iron you apparel. When ironing, please place a handkerchief or some similar type of material between the embroidered threads and the iron's surface.

5) Can I give you a shirt to embroider a logo on for me?

Yes, however, there are two things that we must bring to your attention on this matter.
(I) ALL apparel MUST be new. This is so that the shrinking between the apparel material and the thread occurs at the same rate thus reducing the risk of unsightly puckering.
(II) We may charge a $3.50 handling fee for each item.

It is likely that we might be able to get the apparel cheaper from our suppliers and hence charge you at a very competitive rate. Please see our Catalog and 2007 Price List for current items we carry. So the $3.50 handling charge is to encourage you to check out our apparel and prices first.

6) How much do you charge for embroidery?

That depends on what it is. Please go to the Pricing section for more information on this issue.

7) What is digitizing?

Digitizing is the process of converting a digital image into a stitch or condensed file that can be read by an embroidery machine. It is sometimes referred to as Punching. This type of punching is not painful.

8) Do you do digitizing?

10) What is a sew-out?

A Sew-out is the name given to the action of applying the digitized design on to the apparel. What appears on the apparel after the embroidery machine completes its task of embroidering is then also referred to as a Sew-out.

11) Why does the inside of the embroidery feel scratchy?

This phenomenon is attributed to the formation of the stitched threads on the non-viewing side of the apparel. The embroidery machines sometimes have to sew numerous points in the same area. This can result in a gathering of threads in that area.

It may also be attributed to the type of backing used to stabilize the apparel during the embroidery process. The type of stabilizer used is determined by what the apparel material is. It is normal for the stabilizer material to soften after a few washes. If the sensation is too uncomfortable, then we would recommend wearing another piece of clothing under the embroidered apparel to stop this from occurring.

12) I have a logo that is copyrighted. Can you embroider it on a Jacket for me?

We will embroider the logo on the specified apparel under one of the following conditions:
(I) You are the owner of the copyrighted or trademarked logo;
(II) You have written (or emailed) permission from the copyright or trademark holder to use the logo.

We reserve the right to refuse to embroider an item that we believe falls outside either of the conditions stated above.

13) I ordered an embroidery design from you with some custom names on it. One of the names was misspelled. What can you do about it?

We will quite gladly correct the misspelling. However it must be noted that if the error was the fault of Loving Threads, then we will redo the order at no cost to you. If we have evidence to prove that we did what you requested, then you must cover the cost of the item.

(Please see our Sales Policy Process to get further information)

14) What turnaround time can I expect for my order?

We usually allow three weeks for delivery of your order. This time period may vary depending on the number of items in the order. We usually like our customers to state a comfortable delivery date. This also helps us schedule work that may be needed sooner.

For single items, we can turn the order around in a few days, dependent on any digitizing services also required, etc.

For large quantity orders, we would have to discuss the matter to determine a schedule that will fit your needs and our capacity.

For international orders, allow 4 to 6 weeks.
